Mr Thomas Kersey MBBS FRCOphth

Mr Kersey trained at St Bartholomews and the Royal London qualifying with MBBS from the University of London in 2001. After training in the Oxford region he completed his higher specialist surgical training gaining fellowship to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

Mr Kersey has published over 20 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals and presented at many national and international meetings.

He is fully trained in small and micro incision (keyhole) cataract surgery using a range of injectable lenses including toric and multifocal. He has dual fellowship training in Glaucoma and Oculoplastic surgery. His first fellowship was in Oculoplastics and Orbital surgery in Auckland (New Zealand) under the world respected surgeons Paul Rosser, Brian Sloan and Richard Hart. His second fellowship was in Glaucoma with Professor Phillip Bloom at the Western and Hillingdon hospitals (London).

Other interests include surgical simulation where he is the regional lead for surgical simulation across the Kent, Surrey and Sussex deanery. He is passionate about teaching and has run regional and national surgical workshops in Oculoplastics, Glaucoma and Cataract surgery for a number of years, training eye surgeons of all grades.
